For a whirlwind four days, I flew to Indiana for Franny and DJ's wedding. The weather was beautriful on Friday night for the dress rehearsal and again Saturday morning. The Church was out in the country. Bill drove with me to the Church on Friday night and unfortunately I didn't pay any attention to where we were. On Satiurday I had to get myself to the Church and got totally lost. Then to make matters worse, an ice storm hit. I was near hysteria before I finally found the Church.
I totally embarassed myself as I crashed into the Church a blown out mess and soaking wet just as the ushers were preparing to seat the grandmothers. Bill and Becky just shook their heads - or maybe they were so caught up in the moment they didn't notice their canuck friend making an absolute spectacle of herself.
The lights went out about the time the candles were being lit and the Church shook so bad in the wind that I was sure there was a tornado happening. After all, isn't Indiana "tornado country". There was no tornado and everyone amazingly just continued on like nothing was happening. Apparently, nothing would stand in the way Franny and DJ getting married. |
