Day Trip - July 6, 2015

Row by Row History

Row by Row Experience™ began in 2011 with 20 quilt shops across New York State. In 2012 the event grew to include 62 participating shops. In 2013 there were 138 shops throughout New York and Pennsylvania. In 2014 over 1250 quilt shops participated in 34 states and Ontario.

In 2015 all 50 states and 9 Canadian provinces are planning fun for travelers throughout the summer. Although the quilt shops are organized by area, quilters have no borders.

2015 was the first time that the shops in Alberta joined the Row by Row Experience™ and Carol and I jumped right in. We set out on a day trip intending to hit as many shops as we could. We got a bit derailed when we stopped in Bentley for lunch and visited Simply Country, a quaint shop selling unique new and used items. After loading a "filing cabinet" in the back of my car we resumed our shop hop.

We ended our day stopping in Drumheller to take in the quilt show. We went to dinner with the ladies from My Sewing Room. It was midnight by the time we got home happy as larks with all our purchases.

Two other shops we visited were Prairie Points in Ponoka and Country Quilting and More in Delburne before heading down highway 21 to Drumheller.
